“The BBC hacked into 22,000 computers as part of an investigation into cybercrime but the move quickly backfired, with legal experts claiming the broadcaster broke the law and security gurus saying the experiment went too far.”

Wow. So, if I hack into 1 computer network I go to jail , but these rejects get to hack 22, 000 of them and all they get is a “whoa, well you guys _may_ have gone too far”. Such garbage, the systems that govern us.

So I’m wanting to stream my fav local radio station, but I don’t want the headache of massive ram usage seeing as I’m doing about 12 other things on the pc right now. I google like a good girl and find this http://getsongbird.com/.
So far, I really like the way it installs and some of the plugins are quite unique. Like a lyrics plug in, a 3d browser for your album art and things like that. It even has an add-on for an alarm clock!
Having a bit of trouble getting it to stream my local station, but wmp won’t stream it either, so its prob the link. But shoutcast doesn’t kill my CPU Cycles or my RAM usage so, I’ll keep trying it out…

It’s still a little ways away from actually landing in some graphics cards, but Samsung has announced that it has begun mass production of its new 50nm GDDR5 memory, which promises to support a maximum data transfer speed of 7.0 gigabits per second and boast a maximum bandwidth of 28 gigabytes per second. What’s more, according to Samsung, the shift to a 50nm manufacturing process also increases production efficiency by a full 100 percent, and allows the memory to operate at 1.35 volts, which is a 20 percent reduction compared to current GDDR4 memory. From the looks of it, however, manufacturers will have to make do with a 32Megabit x 32 configuration (also configurable as a 64Mb x 16 device) initially, although Samsung says it plans to expand the 50nm process throughout its graphics memory line-up by the end of the year.
